Nike have created one of the most lucrative collaborative relationships in the sneaker industry over the past two or so years, and now its latest effort is about to release: the sacai x Nike Blazer Low.
For months now we’ve been subjected to teasers, first looks and detailed shots of colorways that are yet to be officially announced such as this “Dark Grey” pair but now it has been confirmed that the “Magma Orange” and “Classic Green” colorways are coming to stores near you in a matter of days.
As we already know, the Blazer Low features an upper made of white leather and sports a number of doubled-up details that have become the collaboration’s signature distinguishing touch. For example, two Swooshes appear on the mid-panel (in orange and yellow for the “Magma Orange” colorway and in white and green for the “Classic Green” offering), while tongues, laces, eyestay plackets, and heel details continue to appear in twos.
Nike collaborations may be one of The Swoosh’s best and most expansive designer partnerships to date. Though the duo are focused on only a few key silhouettes, they consistently revise the cleverly layered shapes with exciting colorways that never stray from wearability this holds true for what’s presumed to be the pair’s first release of 2021.
First seen back in October, sacai’s debut Blazer Low “White/Magma Orange” is seen in detailed imagery courtesy of @solebyjc. The imagery highlights the shoe’s understated white sole unit and upper, enlivened by dual Swooshes, vamps and tongues plastered with unmistakably bold yellow and Magma Orange accents. Doubly-knotted laces reinforce the adventurous hybrid motif further explored by the exposed foam that encircles the ankle opening as if a pair of high-top Blazers had been snipped shorter with scissors.
