A NEW series of documentaries will explore the history of Maryhill as told by the people who have lived in and shaped the area. It is hoped Maryhill In Five Stories will take viewers through the extraordinary history of the area; from its industrial might in the Victorian era, to the key role of the barracks in forming the then-independent Burgh’s identity. “We want to hear from the people who have lived here,” said Nicola McHendry, the heritage and community development manager at the Burgh Halls, which is behind the project. “We reached out and asked people what they wanted to learn about and what they were interested in.
