Since first reporting on the matter, the News has confirmed that the investigation was sparked by a Dec. 5 complaint about a Nov. 6 panel discussion related to Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza.
The Slifka Center for Jewish Life sent a delegation of over 40 students to the “March for Israel” in the nation’s capital. They were joined by a group of over 100 local New Haveners and a crowd of more than 200,000 to express support for Israel in the Israel-Hamas war.
In an email to those involved in coordinating fundraising for the University, Yale Alumni Fund managing director wrote about a “growing number of alumni” voicing concerns following a controversial Nov. 6 panel discussion and ensuing opinion column in the Wall Street Journal. At least one alumnus has decided to halt his annual donations which he described as “minor” to the University.
