Jacob Stover: Body found in Ohio River ID'd as missing Louisville teen

UPDATE: An autopsy has been completed, according to a news release from the office of Warrick County Coroner Sarah Seaton Wednesday night. Stover s cause of death was declared drowning, with hypothermia as a secondary factor.  The body of Jacob Stover, 16, was recovered Monday afternoon, Warrick County Coroner Sarah Seaton said. The services of a forensic odontologist were used to identify the remains as Stover, she said. Warrick Co. dispatchers received a call from the lockmaster Monday about a body in the river, Sheriff Mike Wilder told the Courier & Press.  Stover went missing while kayaking on the Ohio River on Jan. 10. The Louisville Courier-Journal reported that Stover had left his Prospect, Kentucky, home the morning of Jan. 10 for Cox Park to go kayaking alone, according to a Louisville Metro Police release, and never returned. He was last seen wearing a black coat, black winter pants, black boots and a blue beanie.

Sheriff: Body recovered near Newburgh Lock and Dam

NEWBURGH, Ind.  Authorities are investigating after a body was recovered from the Ohio River near the Newburgh Lock and Dam Monday afternoon.  At 1:19 p.m., Warrick County dispatchers received a call from the lockmaster that a tugboat had spotted the body in the river, Sheriff Mike Wilder said. The tugboat secured the body on the water until fire crews brought the body to shore, according to Wilder. A joint investigation between the sheriff s office and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources is underway. Foul play is not suspected to be a factor, according to a news release from DNR Monday evening.
