非洲豬瘟入侵令人聞之色變，全國農政單位跨部會防止疫區或不明肉製品進入廚餘，新北市政府非洲豬瘟災害應小組近日展開越南小吃、傳統雜貨和販賣越南食品店查核，訪視豬場廚餘使用及豬隻健康，動物保護防疫處表示，杜絕非洲豬瘟病毒入侵，另一重點工作需阻絕壁蝨、跳蚤，動保處提供豬農消滅壁蝨等媒介消毒藥水，提供全市130養豬戶加強除蟲消毒作業，防堵潛在感染途徑，維護養豬產業安全。動保處長楊淑方說，非洲豬瘟病毒在冷凍豬肉存活時間可達1千日、冷藏豬肉100日、豬舍30日、糞便11日，病毒可經由感染病豬體液、分泌物、排泄物或屍體傳播，連平時在犬貓身上常見的壁蝨也是傳播媒介。
