Left. reporter: chief, i m just looking at the stuff that you got prepared. you ve got about 160 firefighters and medics on duty in the county. you ve got heavy rescue trucks. you ve got command officers in the field. what are you and your senior people doing now for the next 24 hours while this storm hits? well, i don t know that our community could be any better prepared than what we are right now. we ve had some experience with this. we ve practiced at it, and now our folks just think it s game time. we ve staffed up all of our units to be responsive to the recovery effort. it s a multiagency event. we have the county fire, city fire, we have new hanover hospital-based ems, all of us working very coordinated together to plan for a joint operation. so in effect, what happens during the planning period and during the rescue effort and recovery soon after, we operate literally as one agency. reporter: tell me about that,
