Despite the Government’s announcement this afternoon
that Covid restrictions in Auckland and the rest of New
Zealand will drop to Level 2 and Level 1 respectively at
midnight, the Art Deco Festival remains
cancelled.
Chair of the Art Deco Trust, Barbara Arnott
said yesterday’s decision to cancel the Festival hasn’t
changed, and the Trust stands by making the decision ahead
of Government’s announcement on Covid alert level
restrictions today.
“We know people will
be asking why we couldn’t have waited till the Prime
Minister’s announcement late this afternoon. But the
reality is that the Festival involves hundreds of events and

Jeffrin Harty and Claire Douglas were married today - in Napier s CBD.
In true wedding tradition, the bride was slightly late. About 8.15am, the ceremony - conducted by Hawke s Bay The Hits breakfast show co-host Megan Banks - was under way.
2020 was a rough year, so we want to make sure we celebrate 2021 to the fullest!

The Rainbow Runway will join a range of other categories at this year s event.
After last year s event, Napier City Business Inc received feedback from the community that contestants were unhappy with the lack of diversity, ethnicity and LGBTQ exclusiveness of the overall competition format .
So this year, it is sponsoring the new category, which anyone can enter as an individual or group.
