NSCN (IM) clarifies October 21 incident Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): The NSCN (IM) on Saturday clarified that the stand-off like incident that took place on October 21 between the Assam Rifles and Naga army of NSCN somewhere near Council Headquarters (CHQ), Hebron, has been resolved amicably at higher level. An NSCN (IM)’s statement through its MIP clarified that there was no snatching of arms from the Assam Rifles personnel as reported by some local dailies. NPC conducts skill development class Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): Norman Putsure College (NPC) conducted a skill development class on horticulture and floriculture for the students at Sovima campus on October 22. CM condoles demise of Hewoto Awomi, V Zao

Dimapur, Sep. 29 (EMN): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio condoled the demise of Y Hewoto Awomi, former minister, and V Zao, retired Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, on September 28. Rio shared that Awomi selflessly rendered his service diligently and sincerely, and was a very helpful person, especially to the marginalised section of the society. “I would also like to add that he was a very charismatic person. His death is a great loss for the state in general, and for the Sumi community in particular and his absence will be deeply felt by all,” he said. One injured in hit and run case Dimapur, Sep. 25 (EMN): One unidentified non-Naga pedestrian, age around 30 years, was hit by a scooty in Ghorapatti area near Amar mill, Dimapur, on September 24 at around 9:20 pm. As a result, the pedestrian received serious head injury and was admitted at Faith Hospital, Dimapur. According to a police report, the pedestrian was wearing a black shirt, grey half pant with black leather belt and a double hearted tattoo marks imprinted on the right dorsum hand with orange thread on the right wrist.
