Following pressure from the DA, we can today reveal that work will finally resume in earnest to complete the outstanding construction of Muyexe Police Station in Giyani. (See photos here and here) The DA first exposed this ghost police station, which has been standing empty since 2015, during an oversight visit in October 2021. At the time, we revealed that more than half a decade later, the R20.5 million ghost police remains non-operational because the contractor, Mohlatlego Trading Enterprises, left the site without completing the project.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) challenges Minister of Police, Bheki Cele, to outline his plan to officially open the Muyexe Police Station which has been standing empty since its completion in 2015. The DA can today reveal that more than half a decade later, the R20.5 million ghost police station in Muyexe Village, Giyani, remains non-operational.
