Music aficionados in Dhaka are gearing up for a mesmerising evening as the "A Legacy of Maihar Senia Gharana" event is set to grace the stage at the Chhayanaut Cultural Centre. Scheduled to take place from 4pm to 9pm on May 1, this musical evening promises to be an enchanting journey through the rich tradition of the Maihar Senia Gharana.
The event took place at the International Mother Language Institute on January 20. The magical evening of melodies was graced by the presence of musicians from home and abroad, belonging to different gharanas, particularly the Senia-Maihar Gharana founded by the great Ustaad Sangeetacharya Baba Alauddin Khan, was performed at the event.
As a tribute to the genius of Ustaad Allauddin Khan and his unparalleled contribution to Indo-Bangla classical music, Music Alliance Worldwide Foundation (MAWW) hosted “An Evening of Sub Continental Classical Music” to mark his 50th death anniversary.
