Meet the residents of SKELETONS: Museum of Osteology

Located in Oklahoma City, SKELETONS: Museum of Osteology is an hands-on interactive learning experience that deals with the real bones of over 450 of different species. The museum’s history began in 1973 when a child, by the name of Jay Villemarette, discovered the skull of a dog while he and his father were walking through the woods. At just seven years old, his father saw the interest for Jay and encouraged him to find and collect other skulls. It was clear just five years later that Jay had taken this to heart when he entered his ever-growing collection into his school’s 6th grade science fair. He received a “Superior” award for the display and the following year went on to receive 5th place in the Oklahoma State Fair for the same collection.
