TSSAA Board of Control Votes on Siegel Disciplinary Action, Softball Changes, Classification & More

(HERMITAGE) The TSSAA Board of Control met in Hermitage on Thursday, January 11.
Among the changes locally, the board voted to remove the disciplinary action that was placed on Siegel High School stemming from an incident that occurred at their December 9, 2023 basketball contest.
They also approved a change in the sport of softball when they approved the recommendation of the TSSAA Softball Advisory Committee for the use of a double first base when available as permitted by state association . ....

Titans Part Ways With Head Coach Mike Vrabel

Oakland Advances to Fourth Straight Blue Cross Bowl, MTCS to Play for State Title

The Oakland Patriots started strong and fought off a third quarter comeback to defeat Bradley Central 38-17 to advance to the 6A Blue Cross Bowl. The Pats led 17-3 at halftime, but the Bears roared back with two third quarter touchdowns to tie the game. But an interception with around eight minutes to play by Bradley Central set up Oakland's go ahead touchdown.

Legislative Council approves six changes to TSSAA Bylaws

The Legislative Council met via a virtual meeting on Thursday, July 13 to take action on six proposed changes to the bylaws. Several clarifications were made to existing rules, but two of the approved changes were related to unsportsmanlike conduct by spectators.
The Council added language allowing the association to fine a school a minimum of $250 when it has a fan ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct during a contest. The new rule also includes the possibility of other non-monetary disciplinar . ....
