8:48 AM MYT KAJANG (Bernama): Two men were fined at the Magistrate s Court here on Friday (Feb 5) for wearing uniforms emblazoned with the Malaysian coat of arms and Royal Malaysian Police ranks. Malaysian Drugs and Crime Prevention Organisation (MDCPO) president Roshazreel Roslan was fined RM5,000 in default a month’s jail was fined for displaying the Malaysian coat of arms and police ranks. He was also fined RM 500 along with another member of the non-governmental organisation (NGO), Usmaluddin Shah Kamalsjah, for the offence of wearing the MDCPO uniform to insinuate that they were personnel carrying out police duties without authorisation. Magistrates Muhammad Noor Firdaus Rosli and Syahrul Sazly Md Sain sentenced the two after they pleaded guilty.

Deputy public prosecutor Muhammad Hairuliqram Hairuddin said the prosecution had so far called eight witnesses to testify in the trial before Magistrate Muhammad Noor Firdaus Rosli. “The eight prosecution witnesses who have completed their testimony included the police and Syed Saddiq, 29, who is the fourth witness, where he completed his testimony on Jan 30 last year,” he told Bernama when asked on the progress of the case on Wednesday.
