Chris, give me an idea of what you are seeing right now. Right now, ryan, we are seeing a lot of the water has receded. A lot of the mud and Debris Leftover is laying over. We saw Governor Hogan walk down the steps through the mud to survey the damage. Some of the residents are moving back towards the area. There was one area parking lot that i did take pictures of where the floodwaters were up to the roofs of cars and now just mud. But people are making their way through the mud kind of trying to assess the damage of what just happened. it was very, very eerie to watch that happening. i can only imagine. and you i know you told our producers you smelled gas at one point. i would imagine there s more than concern about the water damage when you have something like this happen. there s a multitude of concerns here. there s mud damage. there s, you know, you never know what s underneath but this water s pushing a car swiftly down the street so you never know what that car hit, what that water s done inside homes. there was a smell of gas. they did ask us to back off and now let us back towards the scene of all this destruction. and hopefully, you know, this beautiful, quaint little downtown can get back to normal soon. yeah. chris turner, just one small example of cnn photojournalists that rush to danger when everybody else is rushing out, thank you for bringing us the incredible pictures. please stay safe. and we ll check back with you in a little bit.

damaged. i am a pastor of one of the churches here and i know some of our church members have considerable mud damage to their homes. appreciate it. thanks for your time and the i report. tim on the phone with us from california. let s get to rob in the severe weather center. what s it like over the next couple of days. although the rain has stopped the concern of mudslides can last for the next week or so. a lot of the rains have stripped the mud off of the hillsides and there are large boulders just dangling there and it is possible that just gravity will take the boulders down. nothing like what we have seen. these are some of the final totals. over two feet of snow. camp nelson, 18 inches.

trying to get people back into their homes, you know, traveling across parts of the city there? i mean, what s next for everyone that got evacuated or is stuck? a lot of evacuation orders, for example, in the la canada flintridge area, those evacuation orders have been lifted because the damage wasn t as extensive as they thought it was going to be. no debris flows there yet. in highland, however, where the mud damage is, vaux orders are still in effect. they re not sure when the people can get back into the homes to assess the damage or rescue some or any items they may have left that are not damaged in the area so it s unclear when they will allow people back into the homes. mud-filled homes, anyway, especially in highland. the time couldn t be worse. just around the holidays. thank you so much. rob marciano is tracking the storm system. what do you think? where is it headed next? finally pulling out.
