i don t think there s any conclusive information right now that says that an immune response when you do what i m calling a complete vaccination, not just a booster because i think now complete vaccinations are three vaccines of an mrna type of vaccine. so we don t really know how long that is going to last. so i know they re being awfully cautious, but i think they may be jumping the gun a little bit. and people that are triple-vaccinated, i think should be very comfortable that they are protected against serious illness. so, doctor, i do have to ask what s going to happen to the unvaccinated who haven t even received one shot if most of the population ends up having a third, perhaps later on even a fourth shot. well, what is bound to happen to them eventually, physically, is that they are more likely than anyone to come down with covid. and i don t know how many times we can say that and how many
anned a know virus as opposed to an mrna type of vaccine. what we saw is that over time immunity waned. so if you got johnson & johnson, and i gave you the johnson & johnson booster, you might have four times increase in your immunity. but if i gave you pfizer, you d have 35 times increase. moderna, 76 times the number of antibodies that you d get with the johnson & johnson booster. so that makes a lot of sense that you might want to switch to a different vaccine. if you got pfizer or moderna, i got moderna, i m going to stick with moderna. that s what i would recommend you stick with what you originally got, particularly was moderna is actually half the strength, half the dose for the booster. i didn t know that. morgan, let me turn to you for a moment in texas. nba season just kicked off. that means you have packed arenas across the country now
can possibly get needles into arms get vaccinated as soon as possible, brian. and i also want to ask you about the other news this week, and that is fda on the verge of making it possible to mix and match vaccine brands. in that subset, are there combinations that are better? if you have a baseline two-shot moderna, is it better for you if you get the pfizer? if you have the j&j, is any booster the best option? well, let me start with the j&j situation. if you ve had the single j&j shot, which is what was recommended, a single dose, it is probably going to be recommended that all those people eventually will need to get a booster shot. and a lot of people think that a booster, an mrna type of vaccine, would be good for those people who got the j&j
