Disgruntled Port St Johns residents are believed to have set fire to the house of mayor Nomvuzo Mlombile-Cingo after she received death threats and was advised to resign. The fire, which started on Tuesday night, affected the main bedroom of the house at the Old Military Base housing complex. Other areas of the house suffered from smoke damage.

SUBANG JAYA - Gelombang pandemik Covid-19 yang mula melanda negara lebih setahun lalu ternyata mengubah 360 darjah cara manusia menjalani norma kehidupan termasuklah urusan pengebumian jenazah.
Menurut Penolong Pegawai Tadbir merangkap penyelia kubur Tanah Perkuburan Islam USJ 22, Mohd Amizi Aminuddin, 41, terdapat perbezaan dan cabaran tersendiri dalam melaksanakan urusan pengebumian jenazah ketika tempoh pandemik ini.
“Daripada segi prosedur pengurusan jenazah sebelum ini kita tidak mengehadkan bilangan waris yang boleh membantu menguruskan pengebumian jenazah, namun disebabkan Covid-19 kita harus mematuhi prosedur operasi standard (SOP) yang telah ditetapkan Majlis Keselamatan Negara (MKN),” kata Mohd Amizi.
