park. nikki burdine is there live with a preview of what s expected to get under way around 7:00. nikki? reporter: good morning. protesters in fact hope traffic will be an issue. and i ve covered a lot of these in the past. today they say they hope to disrupt people s lives. that s really been the point of these protests all along because they said if they go somewhere where nobody will notice them, then nobody will notice them and no one will listen to them. these protesters are part of the d.c. ferguson movement. they will be out here starting in about an hour at 7:00 at mount vernon square. they ll be marching through the streets staging die-ins that we ve seen. we ve covered several of these, a few here at mount vernon square. this is video you re looking at right now of previous protests by the d.c. ferguson movement and these protesters say they don t care that they re inconveniencing people. they don t care they re making people late for work because they want you to
for itself what is necessary to protect the safety of human life and federal property. the parksike what service is saying here is the only way for us to secure this property is putting up these massive barricades. that seems odd. i do not think it would be court.ged in i think it is a safe bet for the park service to make these calls. anotheract, there is argument against this, which is for many years, the executive branch since the stockton memo in 1981, the omb issued a memo that said what sorts of things are essential? we get to keep security on the payroll. park security is still getting paid. it seems odd that the park service would be setting shutting down a part for security reasons when the security personnel are allowed to be staffing the us monuments. that is just kind of strange. the second issue i would like to talk about is the blocking of private or co-owned property. the congressman mentioned lake mead. there was a news story about a whole bunch of folks wit
i wanted to follow on the question, just to clarify, is the president negotiating on whether or not to reopen the government and raise the debt limit? our position has been no ransom for reopening the government or congress responsibility. is he not negotiating? the president has had it depends on what you mean by negotiate. he has been having conversations with lawmakers. what he has firmly made clear again and again is give the tea party its ideological agenda wish list in exchange for congress opening the government or congress raising the debt ceiling so the united states doesn t default. that has been his position all along. it is clear in its simplicity, open the government, pay our bills, stop threatening default and stop doing harm to the economy and american people. that has been our position all along. and reiterating those points. it was to make clear that we see progress in the senate. we see in the senate process, the kind of bipartisan effort is the p
closer to it, it became apparent, it is not like we wake up in the morning saying i want to get 1/7 of the people in the world to do something. a billion is not like magical number. now, as we kind of approached that and passed it, now the focus for us is retooling and you re going to see us retooling the company in a lot of ways to go take on a lot of harder problems that will fulfill this mission. connecting the next 5 billion people is going to be hard. lot of them don t have internet access. people share and put billions of connections into this graph every day. we don t just want to add incrementally to that. we want over the next five to 10 years take on a road map to understand everything in the world smantically and map everything out. we want to play a role in helping people build companies and build jobs. those are the big themes for us and what we re going to try to do over the next five to 10 years. to sum that up, you want all the people?
