Doctors needed new ways to care for their patients that wouldnt further expose them to a virus that could threaten their health and well being. To solve this problem many doctors and patients turned to telehealth. At the start of the pandemic from february to may of 2020 the u. S. Department of Veterans Affairs reported weekly appointments on their telehealth applications surged from 10,000 to 120,000 a week. Nationwide weekly telemedicine visits increased over 2300 .
