Richard Morris Barnett, the man from the Gravette area who was photographed inside House Speaker Nancy Pelosi s office during the failed insurrection attempt Jan. 6, allegedly had a stun gun with him during the riots.
The stun gun revelation came during a Zoom hearing Tuesday by Western District of Arkansas Judge Erin Wiedemann. Barnett faces charges including knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority while carrying a dangerous weapon.
Barnett was photographed lounging behind Pelosi s desk and filmed telling a New York Times reporter he took a letter from her office.
He is also charged with violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds along with theft of public money, property, or records from the riot. He faces up to 11 years and six months in prison and up to $355,000 in fines, Wiedemann said during the hearing.
