MONTOURSVILLE, Pa. This Saturday marks the 25th anniversary of the crash of TWA Flight 800. 16 Montoursville High School students and five chaperones traveling on a school trip to Paris were killed. We all gathered at the high school that evening along with some of the family members and students who just needed some comfort and reassurance that we didn t know what was going on. It was surreal, Stephanie Bedison recalled.

James L. McCloskey, 89, born in 1931 in Lycoming County, passed away on Jan. 26, 2021 at Emmanuel Nursing Center, Danville.
James was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Beverly (Seiders) McCloskey; his parents, Sarah (Liddic) McCloskey and Leroy McCloskey; and three sisters, Doris Peterman, 89, of Muncy, Jean Stryker, 94, of Oregon, and Catherine Raplee, 93, of Oregon; and a newborn infant daughter, Ann McCloskey, born 1968.
James grew up in Montoursville, on Loyalsock Avenue and graduated from Montoursville High School. As a teenager, he worked at the Acme Markets on Broad Street in Montoursville and saved his earnings to buy his first car with cash, a 1949 Chevy. At Acme, he learned the grocery business and worked his way into management. He retired with 23 years of service to pursue owning his own business.
