welcome to very scary people. i m donnie wahlberg. some crime experts call the 1980s the decade of the serial killer. according to at least one study, there were about 200 of these murderers on the loose during that time. but one man stood out. his crimes were random and vicious. his victims ranged from toddlers to the elderly. the citizens of los angeles were paralyzed with fear while police struggled to stop him. his name was richard ramirez, and he was the night stalker. man: it happened in this apartment building in a ground-floor unit. yochelson: jennie vincow was a 79-year-old lady living alone in an apartment in northwest los angeles. jordan: she had just turned off the light in her apartment, and because it was the peak of summer, she left the window open. jennie vincow s asleep in her bed, very vulnerable. jordan: while she slept, a shadow appeared at the window, and it was the outline of a man. and then he opened the window further and crept inside. he w
gunshot after an overnight manhunt. officials say this 72-year-old man murdered 11, injured nine more. opened fire during lunar new yore celebrations at an asian american dance hall saturday night. we are so surprised. here is safe. i m scared. reporter: this was apparently an old man attacking the middle-aged and older out dancing. but why? we still are not clear on the motive. the investigation continues. reporter: apparently the suspect taught dance here at one point, met his now ex-wife at this very dance hall. they divorced in 2006. she told cnn he could be quick to anger if he missed a dance step, for example. was it an issue of being disgruntled or an issue of domestic violence? we don t know, unfortunately. i was told in the past he was a frequent attendee of this dance hall. reporter: his last known address, a trailer home in a senior community further east in hemet was sevearched. hemet pd came by twice alleging fraud, theft and poison allegations invo
