TinCaps fall to Great Lakes, 8-1, after rain delay
DYLAN SINN | The Journal Gazette
Afternoon storms delayed the start of tonight s game betwee Great Lakes and Fort Wayne at Parkview Field, but the Loons were completely unaffected, winning 8-1 to even the six-game series at a game apiece.
How it Happened
The TinCaps troubles started in the first inning with a walk to Great Lakes leadoff hitter James Outman. Outman promptly stole second and then third, running his tally on steals to 19 on 21 attempts this season. Those steals became important when Ryan Ward lofted a fly ball to left that was plenty deep enough to score the speedy Outman from third. It was the second run in a row that TinCaps starter Moises Lugo had surrendered without giving up a hit.
