Dubai: Oman has announced tougher penalties for individuals and businesses flouting COVID-19 precautionary measures, local media reported.
According to a decision issued by Lt. General, Hassan bin Mohsin Al Shuraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs on Sunday, the Royal Oman Police has increased some of the fines of COVID-19 violations amid a rise in new cases in the country.
• Refusing to do a COVID-19 test: Was OMR 200 now OMR 300
• Non-commitment to home or institutional quarantine: Was OMR 200 now OMR 300
• Commercial complexes, shops and private establishments failing to comply with the instructions of the Supreme Committee: Was OMR 1,500 with one month closure, now OMR 3,000 with one month closure.
