OGDEN, Utah – Kenyon Yovan and Aaron Zavala both drove in a pair of runs while Brett Walker gave Oregon another quality start in Oregon s 9-2 Pac-12 Conference win at Utah on Sunday.
The Ducks, who have won six straight, completed their second consecutive sweep of a Pac-12 Conference rival, and the third of a Pac-12 Conference team this season. It is the first time Oregon has swept back-to-back conference opponents since the 2013 season, when Oregon took three from both Stanford (April 26-28 at PK Park) and Washington State (May 3-5 in Pullman).
Oregon (33-11, 17-7 Pac-12) swept its fifth opponent this season, which includes two four-game non-conference sweeps. The Ducks also won their ninth series of the year.

The 2020 Rule 5 Draft was conducted via conference call on Thursday, with 18 players selected during the Major League phase. Pre-draft chatter was focused on whether more young, inexperienced players would be picked this year due to an anticipation of expanded rosters, and a few picks appeared to be made with that in mind. But first, my annual refresher on the Rule 5 Draft’s complex rules. Players who signed their first pro contract at age 18 or younger are eligible for selection after five years of minor-league service if their parent club has not yet added them to the team’s 40-man roster. On Nov. 20 they added three such right-handed prospects to their 40-man roster to protect them from Thursday’s Rule 5 draft, which they then used to add one more.
The Giants selected 24-year-old Dedniel Nuñez from the Mets in the major-league portion of the draft, the traditional end of the winter meetings. Nuñez will join just-protected relievers Camilo Doval, Gregory Santos and Kervin Castro on the 40-man roster.
