rigged. michael lewis says high frequency trade is using an unfair advantage which is extracting billions of dollars from investors. welcome to the first worldwide exchange of the week. europe has now moved into summertime, so we have now regained five of the differential with the united states, but things have changed as far as asia viewers are concerned. an hour into trade today, here in europe, you can see advances currently outpace decliners by a ratio of 7-2 on the dow jones 600. the ftse last week was up .90%. down on the quarter 2%. we are up another half a percent. the dax is up a quarter percent. the ftse is up a half percent as well. let s show you turkey throughout the morning after the regional party victory in local polls. and the bist 100 is up .33% this morning. here s where we have come as far as the first quarter is concerned. we are getting toward the last trading session today. the ftse is down 1.5% so far for the quarter and year to date as well. the dax

gm said it expects to take a charge up to $750 million in the first quarter, mostly related to the costs of recall repairs. shares of gm, they ve come off their highs of about $42 million a share, now trading at about $34 a share. we will see what happens to that stock today at she begins to speak at gm. in just a few minutes, we ve got represent michael burgess. he s going to give us a preview of today s hearing. i still don t know if this is theater or what you can get from something like this. it s hearing her, the first thing i thought of was it s good for her to be able to say that, but talking about an entity, we re not talking about an individual. but it does help when the individual is sort of new and wasn t here for that. you can sort of say from now on, gm will be like this. and this is the past. i m here now. no longer going to be like this. so that is an advantage. and i thought, how many more heads up for this? you figure not hers, but we ll see. 75
billion outflows were posted for last month. announcer: you re watching worldwide exchange, bringing you business news from around the globe. hello and welcome to today s edition of worldwide exchange. it s hump day. we re going to be halfway through the trading week during the program. as for where we stand right now in europe, one hour into today s session, advancers just about outpacing decliners, the dow jones stoxx 600 by 5 1/2/4. some kind of ratio like that. the ftse 100 yesterday was up, what, 0.8%. we re up at a three-week high on the ftse. today, about 0.1% lower. the xetra dax is up 0.2%. the cac 40 is flat as is the the ftse mib, as well. we take a look at bond yields. the 30-year up the yield at 3.62%. the ten-year, 2.76%. auto sales surging from march a year ago, the ism factory, just shy of what we were looking for. and we ll keep our eye on gilts, as well. the construction pmi is coming out around 28 minutes time. on the currency markets, the yen has b
too, right? the advantage of being able to say, well, we re different now. my company is not going to be focused on the cost cutting and its negative effects. what can you really say when someone says that? and the harder you sort of criticize her and pushback, the more people say, well, she wasn t in charge, anyway. so it s a moving target for these congressional guys. . do you want to give her a grade? i think she did as well as could be expected. in terms of apologizing or i think what people wanted more i think they were expecting too much, frankly. given all we heard was i m not sure who it s passed off on the but why is there no name attached to it? there should be some names, it s a big company. anybody knows it could be this maybe ayman jabbers in washington. who we said we re going to get to, but now we re going to get to him. does he have a name? we have never met another ayman, either. every third guy in ireland is named ayman. d
