The CSKT Natural Resources Department reopened Mission Reservoir to fishing last Friday, after confirming that water levels have recovered from the previously recorded low levels measured at the end of August.
The CSKT Natural Resources Department Water Monitoring and Measurement Program recently observed that water levels at Mission Reservoir had dropped to a point that raised safety concerns for the local fish populations and overall fisheries ecosystem. The reservoir is located east of St. Ignatius.
The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes announced last week that recent landslides have occurred in the areas of McDonald Lake and Mission Reservoir.
