Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said allegations of sexual harassment made against New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo are “serious, very troubling,” and must be thoroughly investigated.
Schumer, a New York Democrat, stopped short of calling on Cuomo to resign and is instead leaving the matter up to New York Attorney General Letitia James, who is investigating the allegations.
“I know the attorney general will conduct a thorough investigation that will be totally, totally independent without any . outside interference, political or otherwise,” Schumer said.
