In the final state coaches ranking, the Warrior gymnastic team was rated fifth. But when all the scores were tallied at the state meet, Brainerd finished sixth, tying the highest finish they ve had in their 13 trips to state. Brainerd was awarded its lowest point total – 141.85 – since a meet on Jan. 13.

Ski Gull, Inc., the lakes area s only downhill ski facility, is threatened with loss of its tax exempt status. Tom Burton, president, said the IRS has alleged that benefits of the hill flow to members and businesses and do not qualify as charitable. The ski hill annually hosts over 1,000 6th-graders who learn to ski for free.
