United states indicted on State Charges stemming from his and others efforts to overturn joe bidens election win in the State Of Georgia. I make decisions based on the facts and the law. This case has a couple of twists on advice of counsel. You see some of the lawyers on whod advice they relied indicted. An abuse of power by angry democrats who decide the rule of law doesnt matter to them anymore. Its bigger than watergate. It goes to the foundation of democracy. Involved. those are federal functions. as head of federal agencies the question is whether or not any acts he took might be arguably in support of those functions, and that may ultimately be the question that the appeals court addresses this week. that is what the appeals court is addressing this week, exactly. the scope of donald trump s presidential immunities. in what you ve seen and the arguments that jack smith, the special counsel, says his case is entirely based on the fact that he does not think trump has presidential immunity. donald trump s team arguing the opposite. how strong or weak do you think trump s argument is for absolute immunity at this point? i think both sides have sort of pushed the boundaries of rationality. jack smith argues that, well, you can t give absolute immunity because a president might order that the minority party members in congress be killed during the state of the union address or something. that seems to be such a ridiculous stretch that i
Take over the georgia senate and present in a way that was very one identified, that other witnesses that could offer a counter weren t allowed, and that with respect to minority party members we weren t really we had no clue what was happening. it was all kind of happening in real time, and so with respect to any pushback, any questioning, we are literally having i remembered i had to google who is john eastman? it was one of those things. and remember, this is december, right? december 3rd, after the election. we are still in the middle of covid-19. i m thinking what s going on here? and it s one of those situations where when you have the then-president of the united states tweeting out for folks, all of his followers to tune in to oan for the live-streaming of this hearing, it became clear at that point that there was something more to this than people just trying to get to the truth of what happened in our state.
Issues. we ve had the most bi-partisan legislative session up to this point. i actually broke 194 years of state history and appointed minority party members as committee chairs. bills have come through the house. there s been a lot of debate. the tactic of fleeing the state because there are a dozen bills that they don t like and sending a demand back that says they are not returning unless you agree to take these bills off the calendar all together, i just told the minority leader pat bauer that if that is his demand he might as well stay in illinois. wear not going to concede to that. jenna: so what is next. our budget doesn t take effect until july 1. republicans will be there to do our work every day regardless of the fact that 35 democrats have fled to illinois. i did ask the minority leader if he had run into any wisconsin legislators in illinois. i m not sure what the target is
