Conventional wisdom says men, especially black men, won’t go to the doctor until it’s too late to stop or reverse illness, but you couldn’t tell by the thousands of black men who showed up recently for the 10th annual Minority Men's Health Fair at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
Studies show African American men are more likely to have undiagnosed chronic conditions and delay seeking medical care. MetroHealth's minority men's health fair will provide about 30 screenings and is open to everyone.
The health fair will be held at three MetroHealth locations: Main Campus Outpatient Pavilion, Cleveland Heights Medical Center and Ohio City Health Center.
