the concept of simplicity is not all that simple. frugality is usually understood to mean living within ones means, living on very view resources, savings being the opposite to the extravagant. but i began to realize there is more to frugality than that. frugality is considered a virtue in many cultures but it is closely associated with simple living and there is many different meanings of simple living including living within one s means, but achieving self-sufficiency, being close to nature, and being independent, enjoying the simple pleasures of life rather than requiring extravagant expenditures. you are a penny pincher yourself; right? i am rather. my family will vouj for that. i think it is worthwhile spending money on something that you really enjoy that is really valuable for you. the crucial thing isn t to never spend money on any kind of luxury at all. it is important to be self aware about what you really value and what is really worth spending money on and wha
: senate has a cloture vote to end debate as you will recall democrats changed the rule in , 2013 so only a majority of senators are required to end his debate on his nomination. so that is expected to move forward. the question is when the final confirmation vote will come up. if democrats insist that they want to draw out debate on his nomination that could push the , final confirmation vote until wednesday. besides voting on transportation secretary nominee elaine chau, senate committees will vote on jeff sessions and education secretary nominee devos. what s the status of those nominations? bridget: as you mentioned both , of those nominations were delayed one week for senator sessions nomination that was per committee rules. senator feinstein asked for more time. a couple of days before the senate committee were expected to vote, they received about 200 pages of additional answers to senators questions. so they wanted more time to review those documents and the cha
politics. i think those are different forces at work. it s a critical question. if we are going to build more democratic society, the question of how do the largest minority groups in the country interact with one another and with progressive lights and labor whites, that that is the key question to figure out the answer to. my hope is that this book is a start on that. thank you very much for having me.
