Winsford Academy boys praised for helping a woman struggling with shopping

TWO kind-hearted schoolboys who helped a woman to carry her shopping have been hailed good samaritans. Cousins Kieran Joynson and Michael Saunderson, both 13, were in Winsford town centre when they noticed a lady struggling and rushed to her aid. Their kind gesture has won praise from the community after it was shared on social media. Samantha Felton posted this message: I went into Home Bargains for a couple of things and came out with more than I could carry to the car. Seeing me struggle and dropping a crate of water, the young lads offered to help to take my bags to t he car.

Fibre-optic cable donation set to boost Gov't broadband, Internet plan

Michael Saunderson The Government has received a donation of 650 kilometres of fibre-optic cable from local cable television providers and the island’s two major toll road operators, to help improve the nation’s broadband connectivity. The cable television operators include the island’s two largest cable providers and 34 smaller rural cable providers. “The fibre-optic cables will form part of the National Fibre Optic Communication Backbone to enable high-speed data services among public Government facilities. We’ve been fortunate to have a good response from the private sector, specifically private owners of fibre-optic cables,” Operations Manager, Traffic Management Unit at the National Works Agency (NWA), Michael Saunderson, said.

Ocho Rios hub of daredevil speed

Blood spatter serves as a grim reminder of a crash scene as a policeman takes measurements on Constant Spring Road, St Andrew, on Thursday. A motorcyclist lost control of his bike after colliding with a motor car, sending him and a pillion passenger crashing into a concrete utility pole and wall across from the Oaklands apartment complex. Motorists travelling through the northern Jamaica resort town of Ocho Rios have come under the radar for daredevil speeds at more than four times the incidence in the nation’s capital. A recent experiment found that while between eight and 10 per cent of motorists in Kingston speed, the figure is as high as 42 per cent in Ocho Rios.
