I know that everything was prospering under Donald Trump. And hes got a Track Record that hes already proven. If not nikki haley, who else is on your list . Well, i was decided on desantis until the last debate at drake university. And even though the media said that desantis won, in my mind, after 15 minutes, she won. Because of the way she carried herself and she was just convincing to me. And made me decide to vote for her. You said you were a trumper for eight years. Did you caucus for Donald Trump in 2016 . Yes, i did. Yes, i did. I was a strong trumper at that point. But it was starting even then to wane a little bit, because i didnt see him following through with what he had promised. He had said, im going to build a wall. The mexicans are going to pay for it. They got maybe a third of the wall and the mexicans didnt pay for it. He made all these promises about what he was going to do to improve the economy. Here he got us in 8 trillion
handle this on the other side of the border. of course, the mexicans didn t like that, but they, they were participant of it. there s another part of it. there s another policy where it would be handled on the southern side of the mexico border, guatemala. we talk to a democratic congressman who s planning that. but for the time being, it seems, you know, at this point, katie, it s all on us, taxpayer dime, various states, officials, the entire country. exactly. and when you allow for that sort of claim and, again, people have legitimate asylum claims and deserve to have that processed, but when you put a system in place that allows people to say those magic words regardless of the merits of their claim ultimately and allow them to wait that out in the united states and not deal with the obvious crisis and impact that that has on those border states and towns, that s completely turning a blind eye to the reality of your policy. so to look moral in this setting is really just caus
1.7 million migrant apprehensions here at the southwest border for the fiscal year 2021. that is an all-time record high and even as those numbers are coming in, as you mentioned, we are tracking that caravan which is heading to the u.s. border as we speak. take a look at this video from yesterday. thousands of migrants in the caravan yesterday pushing through the national guard and mexican police skirmish line that was set up to potentially stop them or try to slow them down. it didn t work out. the mexicans didn t offer a lot of resistance and the my grants pushed through you them migrants pushed through them and continued on with the march. it s a well organized march. they re posting qr codes online on facebook. there s an independent journalist down there who interviewed a migrant from west africa and asked him why are you coming right now. take a listen to what he had to say. why now?
