and then, you know, tough transition, because the president is moved by what is taking place, but at the same time, you know, perhaps in the back of his mind or now the front of his mind now that he s made his way back to the white house is his economic agenda and what kind of obstacles are in his way. reporter: that s absolutely right, and one thing seems pretty clear, the white house, democrats up on capitol hill and the president, are at least prodding, if not pressuring, those key moderates, joe manchin of west virginia, even kyrsten sinema of arizona to get on board or at least give some guidance as to what it s going to take to get the bill social safety net legislation over the finish line, what seems clear, at least at the moment, is that the $3.5 trillion top line number is going to come down. not clear exactly what that final number will be, certainly, at this point. but we do know the president has been trying to reach out, trying to make the point, along with
