The 2023 FIDE World Women's Team Championship begins today, September 6, in Bydzosgcz, Poland, with teams representing 12 federations competing over the six-day rapid event.
As the 2023 U.S. Championships wound down, we had some great games to cap off a great tournament. The players in the Junior and Girls’ junior sections showcased why they are great torchbearers for the next generation of American chess, and the Seniors reminded us just how strong they really are.
Melikset Khachiyan and Alice Lee secured victories at the US Seniors Championship and the US Girls Championship respectively. In the Junior Championship, five players still have a chance to win the title. On July 20, the Saint Louis Chess Club celebrated its 15th anniversary with a big party. | Pictured: Alice Lee at the anniversary celebration | Photo: Crystal Fuller
