The University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics named Bradley Haws as new CEO and associate vice president of health care on Tuesday, with Haws set to start on Nov. 29. Haws will succeed previous interim CEO Kim Hunter, who served as CEO since 2022 following the departure of Suresh Gunasekaran. Hunter plans to continue serving.
The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics’ acquisition of Mercy Iowa City remains uncertain after a competing bid was made on Monday. The UI made the initial bid of $20 million to acquire the hospital’s assets, known as a “stalking horse bid.” The UI’s bid set the floor price for all subsequent bids and gained.
