The Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. said CNMI residents who are seeking full assistance under the Health Network Program must satisfy three main eligibility criteria—medical, residency, and income.
With its limited funding from the CNMI government, the former Medical Referral Program, now called the Health Network Program, is already in deficit that, as of last week, has already reached over $800,000.
The Legislature passed during separate emergency sessions yesterday afternoon a bill that would revise the budget for government’s operations for fiscal year 2023.
The Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. has requested Gov. Arnold I. Palacios to provide $4.45 million in supplemental funding for the remainder of fiscal year 2023 to support the costs of the former Medical Referral Program (now known as the Health Network Program) and for the immediate transfer of $292,666 to pay its vendors.
The former Medical Referral program, now known as the Health Network Program, will be strictly enforcing eligibility requirements including income eligibility based off of federal poverty guidelines.
