And that is the update we have received. I am sandra smith here in new york. And this is America Reports. John i am john roberts. The mayor saying this was an incredible unimaginable situation, the fact that this building just came down in the middle of the night. 1 30 in the morning
So i do not support this motion. I think we have to act with urgency. I think it is high time we have an oversight body for a department that has ever expanding budget. Ironically, it was the mayor who didnt support prop c because she said there wasnt enough oversight over the department. So how all of us are not supporting this department right now is absolutely beyond me. So i would encourage all of my colleagues to not support the motion to delay this to march and to act with the urgency that our constituents demand and deserve. President yee supervisor mandelman . Supervisor mandelman thank you, president yee. I want to echo thanks to supervisor haney for the leadership youve provided on a number of issues, and particularly on the sea wall Navigation Center. I think that was a courageous act and the leadership that you provided there is something i think everyone in city hall should be grateful for. I would be grateful for more time on this, this commission. And although again with
I know that i mentioned this to you before and im very happy that youre looking at some of the solutions. And in a way, youre addressing it. There is other issues that i would have enjoyed bringing to the attention to make amendments to it, but i realize and this is my fault i cant really make amendments at this point, because of the our dates. So, im kind of glad the mayor and the stakeholders have reached some key agreements of both to both continue to discuss the need of the critical changes for more responsive department as well as some immediate policy changes to improve the quality of peoples lives right now. Not after november and beyond. Such as a change in the definition of homeless mothers. In support of that discussion, i really well, id like to make a motion to amend the date to march 3, 2020. This will provide us with the breathing room to get everyone to the table and develop a way forward. It accomplishes the objective that we all shared to make our citys work to end hom
That were out of control, i was told by Jeff Kaczynski a year ago, they are not focused on r. V. S. That is not something they are working on. And im watching the mayors own staff nodding their head right now because they know that is the truth. It is great because supervisor brown and others fought and fought to open the first of its kind 30 vehicle center, and it is finally happening, but the one to the department to ask for it year ago, they told us they had no plans to address r. V. S and they werent going to do anything about it until, low and behold, it is up 60 in the city as a whole. I did not want to ban parking but i did because i couldnt get the department to act at all. So what is going on now and every other street in the portola, there are r. V. S lining the streets and the residents are complaining once again. We have no oversight or accountability for this department and it has got to change. If you dont have a lot of homelessness in your district, i am so happy for you
We didnt collect 31 million, so we last about 6 million. Is that correct . Is that how much we lose every time we send in terms of cost to the city, every time we send an ambulance out. So in general, those two lines represent two things one, the positive line, the 135 million line, that represents essentially 100 of all the billings that we generate for that year. And that 106 million represents the adjustments, write offs, things contractual adjustments, for example, medical, medicare, patients that just dont pay, all those old outstanding accounts receivable, all thats written off through the course of the year. So the net of those two, which is about 27, 28 million, is the net revenue that we project. And that based on the insurance demographics and the demographics of our patients, there is a lot of writeoffs. So only a few patients ever really pay . Well, in a lot of cases, we get a lot of payments. For example, medical pays about 150 for a ride, so theres quite a bit of contract
