CHATHAM â If you are kindly and gently reminded to mask up while perusing the streets of the borough, you probably just encountered one of the townâs âCOVID Ambassadors.â
And the innovative, first-of-its kind program, the brainchild of Mayor Thad Kobylarz and Police Chief Brian Gibbons, has been recognized by Gov. Phil Murphy.
When Murphy gave his daily statewide update on Wednesday, Dec. 9, the program was specifically mentioned, and Murphy offered a shout out to both the mayor and Chief Gibbons.
During his address, the governor said he wanted to give some special recognition to the borough.
âLet us always remember that the best way we can remember those we have lost is by doing everything possible to keep our families and our communities safe and healthy,â Murphy said.
