Maui firefighters responded to a structure fire early Tuesday morning in the Kaupō area of East Maui. Damages were estimated $6,000 to the structures and $100,000 in damage to the contents. No one was displaced and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is undetermined and remains under investigation.
An early morning structure fire at the Maui Kāʻanapali Villas on Saturday caused an estimated $500,000 in damage to the 1,100 square foot mechanical room, and $2.5 million in damage to its contents.
A family of five was displaced during an afternoon house fire in Olowalu, and their family dog is deceased as a result of the incident. The fire resulted in the total loss of the structure, valued at $395,000.
Maui fire crews found pallets burning agains the exterior of a building at the Kahului Shopping Center on Thursday night. The fire was first reported at 9:17 p.m. on Dec. 7 at 65 West Kaʻahumanu Ave. in Kahului.
