ProArts Playhouse Maui is hosting several musical performances this May, including back-to-back performances on Mother’s Day and a performance by Maui’s renowned slack-key artist George Kahumoku Jr.
On Monday night, Kamalei Kawaʻa’s journey on NBC’s “The Voice” came to a close. The singer, originally from Paukūkalo, reached the Playoffs last week, securing a spot in the top 20 after a journey that began in early March.
Slack Key ‘Ohana’s latest album “Hawaiian Cowboy,” impressively lassoed the No. 1 spot of the iTunes world music albums chart upon its release last Friday.
The next Hawaiian Music Series of 2024 will take place on Thursday, April 25 at 6 p.m. at Hale Hoʻikeʻike at the Bailey House in Wailuku. The free event will feature well-known local musicians Wilson Kanakaʻole and Jarret Roback.
