Efforts to develop a more planned Pekan Matunggong here is being continued despite challenges.
Matunggong Assemblywoman Datuk Julita Majungki alongside the Matunggong Town Development Technical Committee members visited the proposed site provided to government departments and agencies that plan to build offices in the town area.
Pekan Matunggong land spans 267 acres and was gazetted for the purpose of expanding the township for commercial development and the government sector.
Land use in the Matunggong Town area must be approved by the Technical Committee to ensure compliance with the zoning system set by the Town and Regional Planning Department, Kudat Town Board and the Housing and Urban Development Board.
Julita’s visit with committee members found that the area allocated to the Education Department for the proposed new primary school was trespassed by individuals or adjacent villages
