PUNCH Metro gathered that the fire started from the control room of the command around 2pm and caused panic among police personnel and passersby and raised fear of possible attack as a roadblock was mounted at the headquarters two weeks ago. The fire was said to have destroyed property worth millions of naira at the command headquarters. It was learnt that the early arrival of personnel of the Federal Fire Service to extinguish the fire prevented it from escalating to other parts of the command headquarters. ....

Rainstorm destroys schools, houses in Anambra, Delta The Punch Published 14 April 2021 Scores of buildings have been destroyed by rainstorm in Aguleri, Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State, while an injured man is currently receiving treatment in a hospital in Asaba, the Delta State capital. A source in Aguleri said, “The structures, including residential houses and schools, are mostly located in one of the Internally Displaced Persons’ camps at the Father Joseph Memorial High School in the area. “The storm also wreaked havoc on the Justice Chinwuba Memorial Secondary School, Aguleri, forcing some of the students to study under trees.” ....
