Graber Gryass, a collective of musicians from Memphis, has put out an album that's far from your standard bluegrass fare. Their latest release, entitled Waking Up, boasts a peculiar and offbeat character that's hard to pin down. When asked about the inspiration behind the new album, guitarist and vocalist, Michael Graber, shared that the band aimed to push the boundaries even further with Waking Up. "We wanted to stay song-centered, but we also wanted to explore new sounds and styles," he said. ....

Widows and Crows wins 2021 Battle of the Bands at Lawrence County Fair Times-Mail BEDFORD An Evansville band came to the Lawrence County Fair and left as the winner of the fair s Battle of the Bands Saturday. Widows and Crows took home the trophy and prize of $1,000. The trio features Tony Soellner, vocals/guitar; Dustin Stephen, bass and Matt Qualls, drums. Second place winner of $250 was Boiler a Mitchell band comprised of Chuck Davis on guitar and vocals and his two sons, Ike on guitar and vocals and Jack on drums. Bedford-based St. Vinney claimed the People s Choice award and prizes of $100 and a gift card. St. Vinney band members are Elijah Hicks, drums/backup vocals; Brayden Mikels, bass; Jared Prince, lead guitar and Morgan Gulley, lead vocals. ....
