oakland. a female family member accidentally left her in a car outside of a home in moraga on tuesday. for this family member, things were outside of the routine. it was not the regular course of business. reporter: when the woman realized where the child was she called 911. please say it was 80 degrees when they arrived on scene. temperatures could have soared to 120 degrees inside that car. they performed every life- saving major measure that they could and transport transported the infant to john muir medical center in walnut creek where she was pronounced deceased. reporter: after doing some digging, we traced the address to a day care. we are also learning that the child s mother is a teacher at maranda moraga. and the investigation is ongoing. there is no word yet whether invest charges will be filed. do we know if the woman that was with the little girl, was she dropping her off? if she was going in to drop her off she wouldn t be inside for too long?
prior to hn 1n 1, swine flu, mexico was the hotspot. it s clear from looking at it logically, you can t prioritize where to work. it s what you do there that matters. our responses are always after the fact. it s not good public health. we did good public health on smoking, diabetes, we do lousy public health on pandemics. we need prevention, not cure. so great example, we ve had the worst african ebola, $5.1 billion was used to back fund a lot of the operations that happened during the outbreak. where is the money to move forward? there s a global health security agenda. we need the funds to be allocated to the places where there s the next outbreak, not the last outbreak. we know where they are, we know how many they are and we know how to go about identifying them. i think it s good common sense, public health to get out there and do this proactively. prioritization, you go back to which wildlife species are the viruses found in, are there already ongoing outbreaks of undi
