The first phase of an extensive renovation proposal for McCord Park is beginning to take shape, with construction anticipated to begin in late summer, according to Worthington Parks & Recreation director Darren Hurley.
Worthington City Council expected to revisit body-worn cameras May 17

Worthington City Council plans to reintroduce the matter of outfitting Worthington Division of Police officers with body-worn cameras after the issue has been tabled for more than nine months.
Prior to a presentation from city police Chief Robert Ware at council’s May 10 meeting regarding policy development and implementation of a proposed body-camera program, City Manager Matt Greeson indicated that the discussion of body cameras would be removed from the table May 17.
“We’re scheduling this additional conversation for this evening, and then our goal is to bring forward … the tabled ordinance for removal from the table next week and amendment to reflect the modifications to the program,” Greeson said during the meeting.
Worthington in 2021: City officials see progress on major developments

Despite the challenges faced by the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, Worthington officials see a productive year ahead for the city, particularly with development.
Projects under construction or in the pipeline heading into 2021 include Trivium Development’s proposal to develop a 46,000-square-foot mixed-use site at 121 W. Wilson Bridge Road, with plans for a restaurant and retail space on the first floor, office space on the second and third floors and a hotel with approximately 12 rooms on the fourth floor.
The developer is seeking approvals for a modification to the planned-unit-development zoning application – originally proposed by property-management company Witness Group as part of its nixed plans to develop a 4-story 108-unit Tru by Hilton hotel at that address.
