Why not, asks Cafe Kubal owner Matt Godard.
Godard plans to start serving wine, beer, spirits and cocktails at the Cafe Kubal in the Dey’s Centennial Plaza building at 401 S. Salina St. That is one of five current locations for Kubal, but would the only one with a liquor license, Godard said.
The downtown location makes sense: It’s near the Landmark and Red House theaters, the Marriott Syracuse Hotel, Syracuse’s first bar-barbershop combo and not far from the under-construction Salt City Market (which will also host a new cocktail bar).
