MEXICO Deputy Fire Chief Mat Theriault advised selectmen last week of a number of promotions following the recent retirement of Chief Richard Jones’ retirement in mid-April.
Theriault said he chose Allen Chartier and Ben Sarle as deputy chiefs and members voted to approve them.
The department also voted to recommend Theriault as chief to selectmen, who must ratify that decision.

CANTON, N.Y. (WWNY) - The ECAC released both its menâs and womenâs college hockey schedules for this season on Wednesday.
The ECAC menâs schedule is an 18-game slate that kicks off at St. Lawrence Universityâs Appleton Arena.
The St. Lawrence Saints kick off their 2020-21 season with a home contest against Quinnipiac on New Yearâs Eve at 4 p.m.
Coach Brent Brekkeâs squad will face their rivals from up Route 11, the Clarkson Golden Knights, six times and will also play three non-conference games, one against Colgate and two against Niagara.
