the senators released a joint statement saying it s clear that governor cuomo has lost the confidence of ice governing partners and the people of new york. what is the governor saying this morning about these calls to resign? reporter: in short, governor cuomo saying that those allegations of sexual assault and harassment, that they certainly should be heard, but at the same time he s also maintaining that he s innocent of any sort of misconduct and he also continues to double down on his position that he will not step down as the governor of the state of new york in spite of the ongoing state impeachment investigation and also, as you mentioned, the growing chorus of democrats that are calling for him to resign. here is the governor s latest position when it comes to the growing call for him to step down. i did not do what has been alleged, period. look, it s very simple, i never harassed anyone, i never abused anyone, i never assaulted anyone. and i never would, right?
minute of every day of every year and what i would hope is that if we do have increasing sources that people will be willing to take those steps of put aig mask back on or testing before they go into a dangerous situation. so i think that the cdc is trying to walk a line here and unfortunately it is at a time when we still do have a lot of hospitalizations and deaths even though we re so much better off than we were. it is tricky. what is your concern about school kids. because the cdc is changing its recommendations for schools saying kids who have been exposed to someone who is covid positive can stay in the classroom. but the kids who test positive still need to quarentine and you ve had experience with this with your own daughter. so help us all navigate this. yeah. the cdc guidelines is suggesting that routinely screening community settings like schools is not cost effective. they re talking about both sides of their mouth. it might be, it might not be.
