The city of Madison will redevelop 130 acres of farmland into housing, roads, parks and flood-control efforts after local developer Veridian Homes finalized its purchase from a family farm in early June.
Crews respond to fire in New Glarus

NEW GLARUS, Wis. A number of fire departments responded to a fire in Green County on Tuesday.
The Green County Sheriff’s Office received a call at roughly 3 p.m. for a report of a fire on Marty Road in New Glarus.
Dane County dispatchers said local fire departments were also sent to Green County for additional help, including crews from Fitchburg, Verona and Mount Horeb.
